Limping to Healing

You know you are getting old when you injure yourself while sleeping.

Friday morning I awoke to ankle pain. I could not move my ankle left or right without experiencing pain. I could not put any weight on my ankle. Fortunately, I was working from home and could just limp around my house.

Saturday, the mysterious pain continued, so my husband tightly wrapped my ankle in an ace bandage and I ask my “girls” to pray for me.

By the end of Saturday, I could walk without pain without the bandage. By Sunday morning 98% of the pain was gone. Monday morning there was no pain.

This is what the Lord taught me through this ordeal:

1. When we are in pain, we sometimes need to wrap ourselves tightly in the presence of the Lord and Allow his presence to support us in times of uncertainty.

2. There is power in praying one for another. Sometimes when you can’t pray for yourself, allow your friends to carry you.

3. No matter how strong you think you are in the Lord, sometimes circumstances causes you to limp. It’s okay to limp while you heal.

4. Healing is sometimes a process.

5. God Heals.

God used my physical pain to reveal how he is healing my emotional pain. Regardless if your pain this morning is physical or emotional, God wants to bring healing and wholeness. You don’t have to live with the pain forever. His healing power is available right here. Right now.

“But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.”
