Fashioned

She was fashioned.
Not from his head to rule over him.
Not from his foot to rule under him
But from his rib to rule beside him.

She was fashioned.
Not created superior
Not created inferior
Created comparable, a compliment to man.

She was fashioned.
A Solution to God’s first concern.
A helper, an ezer, a succor.
Powerful, strong, protective.

She was fashioned.
Not as adversary but as an ally.
Not as a servant but as a partner.
Not to rule over but to reign with.

She was fashioned from his rib.
He was created from dust.
Together they assail against darkness.
Together they win.

She was fashioned.
Let her lead. Let her teach.
Let her pastor. Let her apostle.
Let her be who God called her to be.

She was fashioned.
Let her shine!

“And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.”
