Knowing your identity - who God says you are - is crucial if you are to be victorious in the kingdom of God. When you know your identity, the enemy can’t make you play defense when you are made to play offense. When you know who you are, the enemy can’t successfully get you to play the game his way - lie, steal, fear, take short cuts, covet, be anxious….
Friends, are you expecting an immutable God to deal with you according to an old speed limit? The law was necessary. We were under construction. But then Jesus came. He fulfilled the law. He atoned for our mistakes. He was a propitiation for sins, satisfying the wrath of God.

My children, I give you these commandments, not to control you but so you will you will live a life of peace with your fellow man. If these are too difficult to remember, that’s okay. We can summarize these commands into two:

When I didn’t deserve it, when I had fallen, when I was sinking, the Father was gracious toward me. The Father showed mercy, granted me favor, was kind, and granted forgiveness. The Father, kissed my boo boo, held my hand and together we walked back to a place of health.

Perhaps, discerning God’s will requires spending time in His presence discerning His heart for a matter. Maybe it’s surrendering our will, our desires, our dreams to Him and allowing Him to refine, repurpose, reimagine our dreams to His will.
