God can change your fate in a moment. I believe 2016 is going to be a time of acceleration, when like Joseph you will go from obscurity to prominence with one conversation.

Joseph’s journey had not been an easy one. He began as a wealthy kid who was favored by his dad. At a very young age, God gave him a promise of greatness. As a youth, he did not know how to handle such favor so he antagonized his brothers and they sold him into slavery.

But God never rescinds His promises or His gifts. So even in slavery, the hand of the Lord is on Joseph. He prospers. Joseph is then unfairly thrown into the pit. What Joseph didn’t realize, what we often don’t realize is that this pit was a divine setup, a divine appointment. But nonetheless, Joseph continues to prosper in the pit.

It’s in the pit where Joseph made a divine connection. He was kind to the cupbearer and asked him to remember him when he is restored. The cupbearer was restored but he forgot about Joseph for a season. You may feel as if God has forgotten about you. You may feel as if He has forgotten his promises towards you. He has not. Like He did with Joseph, He is positioning you for a suddenly. He is setting you up to to step into your calling. He is preparing you for your destiny!

Don’t give up while you are in the pit. Continue to prosper where you are. Hold your head up. Be a blessing where you are. Your stay in the pit is temporary. Your suddenly is just a conversation away. Your breakthrough is just one obedient act away. The pit is for a moment; your Palace dwelling is for a lifetime!

So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you are. You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you.” (Genesis 41:39-40 NASB)
