Planted

Don’t despise where you are planted. Don’t despise the gifts within you. Be faithful. Be consistent. Bloom where you are planted.

We sometimes find ourselves in situations that are difficult. Our first reaction is to run. But life is often difficult and when we get into the habit of running every time we encounter trouble, we stunt our growth.

Instead we should heed Paul’s advice to Timothy. When we are in a difficult season (even when we are not) we should

1. Remember the gifts inside of us and operate in our gifts. We were purposefully planted there because we have the gifts needed for that situation.

2. Move forward. It may seem like we are spinning our wheels but our consistency is changing the atmosphere, building trust, and giving us a reputation.

3. Live what we preach. Our lives and how we love others speaks volumes. It continues to speak long after people are out of earshot.

God has not set you up for failure. You were not placed where you are to wither and fade. You were placed there to bloom, to flourish, to become a beautiful, sweet-smelling flower.

Sometimes it takes a little dirt (adverse circumstances) to grow.

“Don’t minimize the powerful gift that operates in your life, for it was imparted to you by the laying on of hands of the elders and was activated through the prophecy they spoke over you. Make all of this your constant meditation and make it real with your life so everyone can see that you are moving forward. Give careful attention to your spiritual life and every cherished truth you teach, for living what you preach will then release even more abundant life inside you and to all those who listen to you.”
