Immersed

This morning I am reading Matthew 28:18 – 20 aka The Great Commission. I grew up Baptist so I have heard this scripture all of my life. But this morning I decided to read the Contemporary Jewish Bible and I am intrigued at their translation of “Baptizing in the name …..” According to this translation we are to “immerse people into the reality of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” Paradigm shift!

This immersion is not a one time event. When I think of immersion, I picture being completed surrounded, under water if you will. The reality of the Trinity is the kingdom of God – walking and demonstrating love, power, joy, hope.

So I am commissioned, you are commissioned to surround, immerse everyone in reality of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. That reality is one where everyone is accepted and loved. It is a reality where supernatural healing is the norm. It is a reality where joy is prevalent and hope abides. It is a reality where ordinary men and women walk on water, feed the poor, preach the gospel, heal the sick, and comfort the broken hearted. I am called to be immersed in these realities and take the flood with me everywhere I go.

Watch out world, a Holy Spirit flood is coming!

“Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim, immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age.””
