Stuck?

I had a weird dream last night. I dreamt I was being held hostage by this very strange man. There were several of us in the room. He had strange requests for each of us. For me, he didn’t want my feet to leave the ground.

When I woke up, I could not remember my captor having a weapon. I don’t know what held each of us there. But I do remember being hopeful even while held captive. I knew someone would come to my rescue but I woke up before anyone did.

I hardly ever remember my dreams, so I asked the Lord what did this mean or was it simply the jalapeños I had on my dinner. Are there places in my life where I feel as if I’m prevented from soaring?

I continued reading my devotional. The very next chapter was the story of the dry bones. (We had a guest preacher speak on that a few weeks ago at our church and for some reason last night, I listened to an excerpt from it.)

God gave me two interpretations for the dream, one I need to process with church leadership but the other was this:

“There are areas in our lives we have allowed other people’s opinion of us or either our opinions of us to prevent us from soaring, to ground us. We are believing lies that keep us grounded in fear. We are waiting for the Lord to deliver us and set us free but God is saying our freedom is in our mouths. Prophesy your freedom. Speak to any area in your life that you feel stuck and command it to be loosed in the name of Jesus. “

The enemy holds us captives with lies. Believing, declaring truth sets us free!

Do you feel stuck? Speak to your dry bones.

“Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so they may live again.’””
