The story of King Ahaz is similar to what we are facing today. Nations threatened him. But Isaiah was sent to give him a message. I think the Word of the Lord to King Ahaz is apropos for us today.
A Word of the Lord for God’s people (Isaiah 7:1-17)
1. Calm down and be quiet. Stop spreading fear.
2. Don’t be afraid and cowardly.
3. Yes, the enemy wants to terrorize and conquer you but IT WILL NOT HAPPEN!
4. If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.
5. You have been given a sign: His name is Immanuel, God is with us!
How do we stand firm in our faith?
Read God’s Word.
Think upon God’s Word.
Speak God’s Word.
Let the Word of God speaker louder than the news, louder than your fears, louder than any perceived plot against you.
We Win!
“If you will not believe and trust and rely [on God and on the words of God’s prophet instead of Assyria], surely you will not be established nor will you remain.”
