True Strength

They accused Him. He did not defend Himself.
They humiliated Him. He did retaliate.
They beat Him. He showed no anger.

This is what true strength looks like. When you know who you truly are, when you are secure in who God has called you to be there is no need to defend yourself, retaliate or get angry with others.

Jesus knew why He was born. He was born to die. So while they were accusing Him, He thought of how the enemy would no longer be able to rightfully accuse us. While they were humiliating Him, He was taking away our shame and preparing to make us Holy and blameless in His sight. And with every lash He endured, He was bringing healing to our bodies, our wills, our emotions.

Jesus is our hero. He is our Savior. He endured the atrocities of the cross so that you and I could stand healthy, whole unaccusable, and unashamed.

“They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said. They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the head again and again. After they had mocked him, they took off the robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.”
