The Lord longs to be gracious toward you.
He is excited to show you mercy.
He desires to bestow favor upon you.
He yearns to demonstrate His kindness toward you.
He waits to show you forgiveness.
Picture Him. Arms opened. Waiting for you.
When we fall, He is there to embrace us, forgive, us walk with us.
When Peter was granted the awesome pleasure to walk on water, he took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink. Bu that is not the newsworthy part of the story. The headline is this: Jesus grabbed Peter’s hand and together they walked on water back to the boat.
Have you sinned?
Are you struggling with an addiction?
Is your business in disarray?
Is your ministry crumbling?
Is you marriage failing?
Are your finances spiraling downward?
Don’t allow your struggle to be the headline. The headline is this:
“When I didn’t deserve it, when I had fallen, when I was sinking, the Father was gracious toward me. The Father showed mercy, granted me favor, was kind, and granted forgiveness. The Father, kissed my boo boo, held my hand and together we walked back to a place of health.”
Oh my brothers and sisters, your failure is not the story of your life. His unfailing love for you is the story that needs to be told.
Meditate on this: “¶Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him. For, you people in Zion, inhabitant in Jerusalem, you will weep no longer. He will certainly be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you.”
