I’ve been meditating on this scripture the last two mornings:

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 NKJV

Steven Furtick said, “Faith is God’s love language.” I want to speak God’s love language.

As I meditate on this scripture, I’m asking God, what does faith that pleases you look like? 

I was reminded that Jesus commended two people in the Bible for their great faith. They both were Gentiles. They both were seeking Him to perform a miracle. They relied simply on God’s goodness and not on their own righteousness. 

The Gentile woman was persistent. She refused to take no for answer. (Matthew 15:21-28)

The centurion understood authority. He understood Jesus’ Word was as powerful as His touch. (Matthew 8:5-13)

As we read the Hall of Fame of Faith-ers, we see they each faced dire situations. But in their impossible, beyond hope, ‘life shouldn’t be this hard’ circumstances, they chose to believe God. They chose to ‘faith it’ until they made it. They chose to have an unwavering, never give up, I will believe despite what I see faith.

Now, maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think this type of faith can be taught. I don’t think you can get this faith by reading an article titled, 3 Steps to Have God pleasing Faith.

I think this type of faith is birthed in adversity, watered in the word, and cultivated in the love of God. This faith must be learned experientially.

So the next time the enemy throws some difficulty in your way, the next time a door is slammed in your face, the next time you feel like giving up, remember this is simply another opportunity to develop some God Pleasing Faith. This is another opportunity to speak God’s love language. This is another opportunity to believe despite what I see that God is my rewarder. This is another opportunity to build my faith muscles.

3 Steps to Have God Pleasing Faith

In your adversity,

1. Persist until you see your breakthrough. 

2. Trust His Word will not return void but will accomplish what it was sent to do.

3. Stand confident in His love for you.
