What does God require of us?

Do justly, love mercy and walk humbling with our God?
Live sinless?
Church attendance?
Give to the poor?
Preach the gospel?
Lay hands on the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the leper, cast out demons?

No! According to Jesus there is only one requirement: Believe in Jesus. That’s it!

All those other things are the fruit of believing. They are a response to a relationship with Jesus.

Believe in Jesus. Believe you are who He says you are. Believe you can do what He says you can do. Believe His love for you is extravagant and unconditional. Believe Him when He says you are forgiven. Believe Him when He says it is the enemy who comes to kill, steal, and destroy but He has come to give you life abundantly. Believe Him when He says greater is He that is in you, than He who is in the world. Believe he did not come to condemn you but to save you from sin, sickness, loneliness, depression, oppression, and injustice. Believe in Jesus! Believe the Good News!

“They then said, What are we to do, that we may [habitually] be working the works of God? [What are we to do to carry out what God requires?] Jesus replied, This is the work (service) that God asks of you: that you believe in the One Whom He has sent [that you cleave to, trust, rely on, and have faith in His Messenger].”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:28-29‬ ‭AMPC
