Plan A or Plan B?

What is God’s will for my life? Job or school? Plan A or Plan B? Should I move or should I stay? All of these questions are good and should be asked of God. However these questions, if we are not careful, can lead us to a place of fear and paralysis.

Too often, as Christians, we are afraid of making a mistake, afraid of “getting out of God’s will.” So we stand at a crossroads not doing anything because we are afraid. I’m not sure if we are afraid of falling, afraid we will be like the 1st generation of the children of Israel and die in the wilderness or afraid that if we make the wrong choice, God will say, “You are on your own, buddy.”

But can I tell you a secret this morning to help you overcome your fear: “God is bigger than your mistakes.”

When God promised, “All things work together for your good”, he meant it. Our mistakes, our failures, even our moral lapse of judgment can be used by God to move us into our destiny.

So what am I saying, Just willy-nilly go through life doing whatever makes you feel good? Of course not!

I’m saying, submit your heart to God, pray for wisdom and guidance and then take a step of faith with no fear! Know that you cannot “get out of God’s will” if your heart is submitted to Him. Know that if you make a mistake, God is redemptive and restorative. Know that if you fall, He will catch you. Know that God will use everything you encounter to teach you, strengthen you, and prepare you for your destiny.

Friends, I encourage you not to fear making a choice. All of your choices will eventually lead to your destination. Because, God has promised, “All things will work together for your good!” Trust him.

“So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.”
