Yesterday, I shared my conversation with the Holy Spirit:
Holy Spirit: I’m about to do a new thing.
Me: But I’ve been hurt before.
Holy Spirit: I’m about to do a new thing that is beyond what you can ask, think or imagine.
Me: I don’t want to be disappointed so forgive me as I manage my expectations.
Holy Spirit: Its a new day, my daughter.
Me: I’m still recovering from the last season.
The Holy Spirit quickly reminded me of My three favorite names of God. Yesterday, I shared He is Baal Perazim – Lord of the Breakthrough.
This morning, I am meditating on El Shaddai, Lord God Almighty.
Abraham was 99 years old. Sarai was way past child bearing age. They had tried to fulfill the promise in their own strength and it didn’t work. The thought of having a baby at this point was laughable. Years of waiting. Years of trying. An epic failure. They were disappointed, perhaps even disillusioned.
But then God appeared and declared: “I am Lord God Almighty!” (Genesis 17:1). I am The God of impossible circumstances. I am the God who makes the barren fruitful. I am the God who transform men into nations.
I am Almighty. All Powerful. Nothing is too hard. Sea parting. Giant defeating. Promise Land giving. Wall destroying. Virgin birthing. Wine from water making. Dead raising. Leper cleansing. Sight giving. Lame walking. Death, sin, and grave destroyer. Resurrecting God. Nothing is impossible for Me.
It is this God who renewed his promise with Abraham. It is this God who is promising us, “He is about to do a new thing that is beyond what we can ask, think, or imagine.” And just like Abraham, we must let go of our disappointment and our disillusionment and trust El Shaddai, the Lord God Almighty.
He promises the impossible because He is the Lord of the Breakthrough. He performs the impossible because He is Almighty. He gives us the impossible because He is Love and delights in the prosperity of His servants.
Now this is my conversation with God:
Holy Spirit: I’m about to do a new thing.
Me: Yes, you are Lord of the Breakthrough.
Holy Spirit: I’m about to do a new thing that is beyond what you can ask, think, or imagine.
Me: Yes, you are Almighty God. Nothing is too hard for you. You are able and willing to do more than I can ask, think, or imagine. Your almightiness will accomplish this.
How will you respond to God’s promises?
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”” Luke 1:37 CSB
