After Paul had written most of his letters which we now consider the New Testament, he wrote, “I want to know Christ.” But Paul, you have preached the Gospel, leading many Gentiles to Christ; you have beautifully explained grace; and you have demonstrated signs and wonders yet you do not know Christ?
But of course Paul was desiring to go deeper into his intimacy with Christ. Paul knew the depth of Jesus is infinite. The angels have been singing, “Holy, Holy, Holy”, since the beginning of time because they are constantly discovering another aspect of His goodness. He is that good and that vast. So Paul declared, “I want to know more, and more, and more of Him.
Paul’s desire is my desire this morning. I want to know Christ. I want to be so intimate with him, I don’t know where my thoughts end and His begin. I want to approach every situation, not with the question WWJD, but just instinctively do what Jesus did. I want to see the good in every person and the possibility in every problem. I want to daily discover another aspect of His goodness and faithfulness. I want to know Christ.
“I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death,”
Philippians 3:10 NLT
