Exuberance

I must admit when I see others exuberant in worship, I can be somewhat of a cynic. I wonder if it is sincere or just an act. (I know my thoughts are wrong but don’t judge me as I struggle with judging others.)

But as I read His Word, I find God has called us to exuberant, joyful, passionate worship. And I have not read where He excuses us from this based on our personality type.

He exhorts us to announce that He reigns.
Shout with thunderclap shouts.
Break into song.
Let our voices boom.
Dance in victory.
Clap our hands.

Why are we to be so boisterous? Because our Savior has saved! Our Redeemer has redeemed! Because our God has demonstrated His muscled right arm! Because He has defeated our enemy and has given us authority to reign! Because our sins are forgiven and He calls us sons and daughters!

I believe this is what worship in heaven will look like – loud, joyful, exuberant, passionate. If we truly want to see Heaven on Earth, let’s start with worshipping like we ARE in Heaven.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger bringing good news, Breaking the news that all’s well, proclaiming good times, announcing salvation, telling Zion, “Your God reigns!” Voices! Listen! Your scouts are shouting, thunderclap shouts, shouting in joyful unison. They see with their own eyes GOD coming back to Zion. Break into song! Boom it out, ruins of Jerusalem: “ GOD has comforted his people! He’s redeemed Jerusalem!” GOD has rolled up his sleeves. All the nations can see his holy, muscled arm. Everyone, from one end of the earth to the other, sees him at work, doing his salvation work. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭52‬:‭7-10‬ MSG)
