To all the moms this morning who are believing God to restore, heal, and save their child. To all moms whose relationship with their child is strained. To all moms who are hurting or saddened because your child is engaged in destructive behavior. To all parents who have cried themselves to sleep, wondering if your child was safe. Allow me to speak life to you this morning:
1. You are not to blame. Forgive yourself for whatever mistakes you have made. We all have made mistakes. God was the perfect parent, yet His children chose wrongly.
2. Forgive, if necessary, your child. Love them unconditionally.
3. Keep believing. Keep contending. Keep praying for your child. God is faithful and there is absolutely no one beyond redemption. Regardless to what you see in the natural, keep praying. No matter how bad things get, keep believing. A mother’s prayer is powerful and effective and His promises concerning your child are yes and amen.
One of my favorite stories is that of a gentile woman whose daughter was demonized. The disciples wanted to send her away, Jesus said it wasn’t her time yet. But this woman persisted for her child’s breakthrough. She resisted offense. She would not take no for answer. She contended until her daughter was free.
Oh my sweet, sweet sisters. We are in this together. Keep praying. Keep believing. Like this woman, your son, your daughter will be set free!
“A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.” Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.”
