I’m all about grace. I love to teach on God’s unconditional, unfailing love for us. I love to show people we are righteous because God has imputed righteousness to us not because of our behavior, but because of His goodness and Jesus’ obedience. I love to set people free from the bondage of striving to please God but to rest in His favor.

So this morning’s post may seem out of character for me but it’s not. The Bible says, “Grace teaches us to say no to unrighteousness.” Grace empowers us to do what Jesus would do, to love like Jesus, to be like Jesus.

So let us not forget Jesus’ words on how we treat others:

““But to you who are listening I say:
1. Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
2. Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
3. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.
4. Give to everyone who asks you.
5. If anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
6. Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

What if we modeled this as Christians? What if we required this of our leaders? Let’s pray: “Lord, give me the grace to love like you. Give me the grace to do what you did.”
