Truth

Jesus made a dramatic statement before the cross: “Now the ruler of this world (Satan) will be driven out.”

Jesus was stating that Satan has lost his place of prominence in this world; he has lost his authority. So why does it seem, 2000 years later, Satan seems to still have authority? Well we, God’s people, continue to loan our authority to the enemy. How do we do that? We believe his lies. So let me expose some of his lies with the truth:

Lie: I’m a sinner saved by grace. Truth: I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Lie: I am unfit, unqualified for the work of God. Truth: I have been equipped for every good work.

Lie: My past disqualifies me. Truth: I am forgiven.

Lie: A little fear is a wisdom. Truth: God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Lie: My sin separates me from God. Truth: I am holy and blameless in His sight.

Lie: I am defeated. Truth: I am victorious.

Lie: God is angry with me. Truth: God is singing over me.

So, let’s take back our authority by believing truth and rejecting the lies of the enemy. Drive him out of your life. Remove his place of prominence. Jesus did the heavy lifting to accomplish this 2000 years ago. We just need to believe.

“Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be driven out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.””
