“Then the priest will burn the entire sacrifice on the altar as a burnt offering. It is a special gift, a pleasing aroma to the Lord.”
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This offering…this bloody, messy, smelly, gory offering was a sweet aroma to God. Because this offering temporarily made a person acceptable to God, purified them, and made them right with God.

It wasn’t the offering that pleased God, it was its results.

Fast forward thousands of years. The ultimate sacrifice, the unblemished Lamb was sacrificed, was crucified on the bloody, messy, gory cross and it pleased God. (Isaiah 53:10)

Why?

Because His sacrifice satisfied forever.
Because His sacrifice was enough.
Because now, we are permanently made right with God.
Because now, we are the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS. (II Corinthians 5:21).
Because now, we have been forever purified by the blood. (I John 1:7).
Because now, we are forever accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:6 NKJV).

It pleases God that nothing is separating us from Him.
It pleases God that we can boldly approach Him.
It pleases God we are sitting in Heavenly places next to Him.

Let’s celebrate today and everyday the “enoughness” of Jesus’ sacrifice. Let’s us boldly pray for others, forgive one another, love one another, serve one another, knowing we are sitting in Heavenly places. Let us boldly run into His arms and find rest. Let us walk in peace knowing no matter what we faced today, we don’t have to face alone because we are conjoined with Him.
