Has God called you to do something and you are hesitant because of your lack? Perhaps you don’t feel qualified. Or maybe the finances are daunting. What is preventing you from stepping out in faith?
Abraham was asked to make the ultimate sacrifice, his son of promise. As he climbed that mountain to give it all away, I wonder if he tried to reason how God would keep His promise. I imagine he was anxious, wondering how this would all turn out. I’m sure he questioned whether or not he had heard God correctly. But despite his reservations, he stepped out in faith, took a risk, and was willing to obey completely.
Has God called you to do something that seems impossible, something difficult, something others around you think is crazy, something you don’t have the ability to do nor the resources to do?
Get excited because you will find as Abraham did, that He is Jehovah Jireh. He is our provider. He looks ahead and puts Rams in bushes. Jehovah Jireh literally means “God will see to it!” So don’t consider your lack, your inability, your weaknesses. The God of the Universe, Almighty God, the God who is unlimited in resources, the God who cannot lie will see to it that His promises concerning you will come to pass. On the mountain of the Lord, it will be provided.
“Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.””
