Taste and See

God is good!

As I meditate on God’s goodness, I thought about God’s convenant with Abraham. The Bible tells us that Abraham worshipped other God’s. (Joshua 24:2) There is no mention that Abraham did anything to earn God’s favor before God spoke to him. God established his covenant with Abraham not because Abraham was good but because God is good.

This should give us hope and encouragement.

We don’t enter God’s presence based on our goodness, but because of God’s goodness.

We don’t receive from God because of our merit but because of God’s merit.

God doesn’t answer our prayers because we are faithful but because He is faithful.

Since God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, we have confidence that we are forever welcomed into His presence, He gives us good gifts, and He answers our prayers.

As we petition God in prayers, we must do so with an unrelenting belief that God is a good Father who wants to give good gifts to His children. Pray BIG. Expect BIG. He is a BIG God who desires to do BIG things for His children.

Try Him. Taste and see He is good.

“O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want. The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:8-10‬ ‭NASB‬‬
