Broken garage door.
Toilet #1 leaks.
Toilet #2 breaks.
Disappointing news.
No this is not a bad country music song. It’s my life. It’s life in a 20 year old house. It’s an enemy trying to distract me.
How does one handle life’s unpleasant events? What do you do when things break? When Life falls apart? When your child is hurting? When your finances are struggling? When God says do this but you don’t have the resources?
This is what I am learning to do: Pray, give thanks, and go.
PRAY. Ask God for wisdom, resources, healing, restoration whatever is needed. Ask trusted friends to agree with you in prayer. Pray and trust he will keep His promises concerning you.
Give Thanks. Thank Him for His faithfulness in the past. Exalt Him simply because He is God. See Him at work in every area of your Life there is a need. See the glass half full. Give thanks even when you don’t feel like it.
GO. In my life, I have noticed, these “events” like to happen right before I step out in faith. They give me pause. They make me question God’s ability to protect me. They make me want to play it safe. But this is not the time to shy back. Go! Do want God called you to do. Don’t allow the enemy to stop you. Go in spite of the hurt you may be feeling. Go regardless if it’s your last dime. Walk in radical obedience.
Don’t ever allow life’s circumstances to be a bigger NO than God’s YES!
“So now, beloved ones, stand firm, stable, and enduring. Live your lives with an unshakable confidence. We know that we prosper and excel in every season by serving the Lord, because we are assured that our union with the Lord makes our labor productive with fruit that endures.”
