Jesus was often “moved with compassion” before a miracle.
Another way of saying that is, “He was moved by love.”
When people in need approached Jesus, He never reprimanded at that point; He didn’t counsel, He didn’t even teach. He loved. And Jesus’ love language is healing.
When the downtrodden approached Jesus, He didn’t blame. He didn’t accuse. He didn’t judge. He loved. And Jesus’ love language is forgiving and restoring.
When people came to Jesus, he felt their pain, he saw their struggles and it produced compassion.
Here is a hard question I’m asking myself.
What is produced in me, when I see someone struggling?
Judgment- if only they had…
Religion – let me demonstrate my spiritual power by praying for you
Arrogance – let me advise you how to avoid…
Fear – what if I pray and they are not heal?
Jesus was motivated by love. I want to be motivated by love. Do you?
Pray this with me:
“Lord, teach me to see like you see, to feel like you feel, to love like you love. Let everything I do, every prayer I pray be motivated by love. I repent of judgment, religion, arrogance and fear as I have prayed in the past. Father, you have given me faith to pray with boldness, authority, and power. Let me walk in it. But also, Let me be moved by love. Amen.”
“Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they could see, and they followed him.”
