Living in America

I love living in America! I would not want to live anywhere else. Yes, we have our issues but it is still a great nation. Many of my Christian brothers and sisters are concerned that our liberties as Christians are being eroded. We complain about not being able to say Merry Christmas and prayer being removed from public school (which is an outright lie because I pray in a public school every time I step in one.)

As I’m reading the books of Acts this morning, it dawned on me the solution to our problems. So my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, if we want our Christian liberties restored, instead of waging war on Starbucks cups, fighting over Target’s bathroom policies, asking that the pledge be recited everyday (which by the way, it is), and trying to get pre-Christians to behave like Christians, what if we prayed like the disciples prayed when they were facing true persecution. What if we ALL joined together and prayed this:

And now, O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” (‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭4‬:‭29-30‬ NLT)

And then what if we went out and preached the gospel, healed the sick, and perform miraculous signs and wonders? What if we did what Jesus did? What if we were less concerned with behavior modification and more concerned with Christ Transformation?

This is what I’m praying today! This is what I’m planning to do today. Will you join me?
