Life can be difficult sometime. Tragedy happens. There are times when we mourn, times when we hurt, times when we question. Yet Jesus has come so that we can live in abundance, so that we can live a triumphant life.
Paul, who was well acquainted with tragedy, persecution, trying times, gives us this advice to live triumphantly:
1. Rejoice always. No matter how difficult life becomes, no matter how unfairly you are treated, no matter how much it hurts, find joy in every situation. God is at work even in the most dire of circumstances. Look for Him and there you will find joy.
2. Stand in confidence. There is nothing you will ever encounter that the Jesus in you can’t handle. You can truly do all things through Him who gives you strength. You can love the unlovable, forgive the unrepentant, and accept the unacceptable. You can rejoice in difficult times, you can hope when all seems lost, you can stand when others are falling. And yes, you can do what God has called you to do. The Jesus in you is fierce, relentless, unstoppable.
3. Hope. Hope is faith in action. It is knowing despite what you see, despite what you feel, God will do what He promised. Hope is powerful. Hope gets us out of our beds, to face another day with joy. We stand in hope knowing God will supply all we need. He will supply our physical needs and our spiritual needs. We stand in hope knowing we will lack no good thing!
So friends we have been promised an abundant life. Let’s walk in it. Rejoice. Stand. Hope.
“May you always be joyful in your union with the Lord. I say it again: rejoice!
I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.
And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my God will supply all your needs.”
Philippians 4:4, 13, 19 GNTD
