God is not the author of the bad things that have happen to us. He did not send them our way to teach us, humble us, discipline us. He was not standing at a cosmic gate blocking some stuff, allowing others to pass him. He was not judging our strength level, “testing how much we could bear,” and sending tragedy accordingly.

I spoke to a young woman who moments earlier had accepted Christ as her Savior. She had experienced severe trauma as a child. She thought God had forsaken her during those times. But I was able to share with her, God had not left her during her difficult times, but he had sustained her to bring her to this moment. In the midst of her trials, God was in it and working it for her good.

You see, God is “in it” with us. The Bible says “IN all things God works…” God is IN the flood with us; He is IN the storm; He IN the fire. He is IN it sustaining us. He is IN it leading us out of it. He is IN it taking the bad things the enemy did and turning it around for our good. He is IN the dumb mistakes we make, redeeming and restoring. He is IN it to WIN it!
