Sometimes life seems bleak. There may be areas in your life that seems hopeless, they seem beyond redemption. When you began the battle, you had faith – every scripture, every sermon seemed to confirm that God was doing something beautiful. But then days turned to months and months to years and after awhile you became battle weary. Hope began to wan.
I understand. I’ve been there. But this morning, I’m here to remind you of a glorious beautiful secret. “Christ in You is Hope!” I know Christ in us seals our salvation and ensures us we will one day go to heaven! But nonetheless Christ is in us! His resurrected power is in us. His wisdom is in us. His peace is in us. His love is in us.
I John 4:17b says “as Christ was in this world, so are we.”
What does that mean? As Jesus spoke to the storm and calmed it, so can we. As Jesus healed, so can we. As Jesus multiplied resources, so can we. Jesus, was never without hope. Even when his friend, Lazarus, had been dead 4 days and no one around Him had hope, Jesus knew Lazarus was only one declaration away from a miracle.
Are you battle weary this morning? Has hope begun to wan? Let Christ in you restore your Hope! Let Christ in you strengthen you to continue to contend yet another day. Let Christ in you spur you forward to victory.
to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27 NASB)
