“Step out of the traffic! Take a long, loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything.” Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, GOD -of-Angel-Armies protects us. (Psalm 46:8-11 MSG)
Sometimes, when we are in the middle of a battle or a difficult situation, it’s hard to see what God is doing. Everywhere we turn, it seems as if there is just one battle after another. It’s as if the battle will rage forever. But the Psalmist encourages us to see the battle through the eyes of God. He commands us to take our eyes off our problems, off our struggles and behold our almighty, all-powerful God. He reminds us that God is more trustworthy than politics, He is more stable than the economy, more fierce than any sickness, more forgiving than any sin.
Step out of traffic today, it’s not where you belong. You, my friend have been seated in Heavenly Places, far above the worries and troubles of this life. See your situation from God’s vantage point. And know that He is God!
