I awoke this morning with the list. You know, the mental list of all the things I need to accomplish. Starting in mid-May lots of good things are happening, lots of opportunities to minister the Gospel, lots of traveling. I’m both thrilled and terrified or as my pastor so aptly put it, “I’m thrillified.”
As I’m reading my daily scripture, I see a prayer King David prayed. David was the most successful King of all time. He loved the Lord. He had wisdom. He defeated giants. He expanded the kingdom of God. Sign me up for all that. So as I prepare for all that God has called me to do, I’m going to pray like David prayed. Pray with me over your life as well.
“In times of trouble, the Lord will answer my cry.
May the name of the God of Jacob keep me safe from all harm. May he send me help from his sanctuary and strengthen me.
May he remember all my gifts and look favorably on my offerings.
May he grant my heart’s desires and make all my plans succeed.
I will shout for joy when I hear of His victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God.
May the Lord answer all my prayers.
Now I know that the Lord rescues his anointed and I am His anointed. He will answer me from his holy heaven and rescue me by his great power. Some boast of their abilities, their education, their bank accounts, but I will boast in the name of the Lord my God. I will rise up and stand firm.
Give victory to your daughter, O Lord! Answer my cry for help. Amen.”
