Jews and Gentiles. Blacks and Whites. Englishmen and Irish. Man and Woman. Democrats and Republicans. United. One race. The Christian Race. Have you not heard? Have you not read?

He came and destroyed the dividing wall of hostility between us to create one new humanity. He came to bring peace and to reconcile all of us to God. He then gave us, His new humanity, the ministry of reconciliation. He reconciled us so we could reconcile others.

Now, the enemy who is crafty, a liar, and an accuser thought, “If I can get them to fight each other they will not have time to reconcile the rest of the world.” So he sowed seeds of discord, the idea of slavery, the idea that one people group is superior to another. And the fight was on.

But let us remember that our human race, our ethnicity, our gender, was intentionally created by God and was never meant to divide us. Our differences are meant to be celebrated. Our differences were meant to show the world, “All are welcomed in the Kingdom.” (God likes color.)

So let us rise up and be who we are – A New Humanity. Reconciled to God and reconciling others to God, letting go of the hostility that separates us and walking in peace and love one toward another. We are a New Humanity. We are Christians.

“For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.” Ephesians‬ ‭2:14-16, 18‬ ‭NIV‬‬
