This morning, I was asking God for direction on a certain situation. I’m contemplating making a change and I asked the Lord, should I try something new. The first thing I heard was something my wise husband says all the time, “No matter where you go, there you are.”
That saying is my husband’s constant reminder that happiness is not external, it’s internal.
What is the external circumstance that you are waiting on for your happiness to be complete. A job? A spouse? A child? A business opportunity? A ministry opportunity? A healing?
Whatever you are waiting on, stop waiting and receive this Truth: Jesus is enough! You are enough in Him!
When we seek external forces to complete us, those external forces become our gods. When the people sought Jesus for food and healing, He chastised them and said, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.” JOHN 6:35 NASB
Jesu is enough! Until we receive that truth, happiness will always be fleeing, temporary, dependent upon the latest conquest.
Consider this: The Fall of man began with the enemy sowing seeds of discontentment to Eve. He convinced her she needed more than she had to be happy. He convinced her happiness was in the one thing she didn’t have access to. He is still trying to sow seeds of discontentment into our hearts today. Don’t fall for his tricks anymore. Jesus is enough! You are enough in Jesus.
God is calling us to find joy where we are. We will never find joy in the palace, until we learn to find joy in the pit.
Jesus is enough. In Him there is no lack. In Him is contentment.
