She went where she was not wanted. She went where she was scorned, shamed, and shunned. She had the audacity to enter into a Pharisee’s house as a sinner, a prostitute. Once there, she did not try to hide herself, blend in with the crowd. No, she made a scene. She boldly touched the Teacher, the Holy Man of God. She wept and her tears washed His feet. She let down her hair and dried his feet. She anointed him with expensive perfume. She worshipped extravagantly in the presence of Jesus.
What could propel this woman to endure the looks of contempt, to press through an atmosphere of disdain and worship unashamedly? Her Superpower – Forgiven.
When we don our super power, Forgiven, we can boldly go into the presence of the Most High. We trample upon guilt, condemnation and shame that stand afar and judge us. We, like this woman, go into His presence like we belong there because we do. In His presence we find more super powers – joy, peace, acceptance, wisdom, hope, love. In His presence, like this woman, we find freedom to worship extravagantly.
Our past mistakes, other’s opinions of us are all insignificant in His presence!
But not only does our Super Power of Forgiven lead us into His presence, it allows us to supernaturally forgive others. When we get a revelation that we are freely and completely forgiven, we can freely and completely forgive those who have hurt us. We can use our Super Power to set other people free! How cool is that?
So come on people, let’s recognize that Forgiven is our Super Power! Let’s wear it proudly as we boldly go into His presence. Let us show it off by releasing others to join us in his Throne room of grace!
“This “realm of death” describes our former state, for we were held in sin’s grasp. But now, we’ve been resurrected out of that “realm of death” never to return, for we are forever alive and forgiven of all our sins! He canceled out every legal violation we had on our record and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all—our sins, our stained soul—he deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation.”
Colossians 2:13-14 TPT
