Ninety years old. Past childbearing age. Sara was content to see the promise fulfilled via her husband and her maidservant. Dreams of bearing her own were long past. She had accepted infertility.
After hope had gone. After disappointment turned to acceptance, after resigning to a life of barrenness, a promise is given. This time, not just to her husband but to Sara. Sara’s response: A mocking, “Yeah, right.” But God’s response to Sara is exciting! God’s response imparts hope, emboldens, empowers! God’s response:
Is there anything TOO hard for God?
Is there anything TOO wonderful for God?
This is NOT a question but a statement of fact.
What are you believing for today? I don’t care what the doctor said. I don’t care what your body is saying. I don’t care what your bank account says. I don’t care how long you have been battling the situation. The fact is nothing is too wonderful for God! That addiction is not too hard for God. That loneliness is not too hard for God. That sickness, that prodigal child, that marriage, that business, that ministry, that mission’s trip is not too wonderful for God. Your area of barrenness is not too hard for God!!
Keep hoping. Keep believing. Keep dreaming. Because NOTHING is too WONDERFUL for God? At the appointed time, you will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!
“And the LORD asked Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh [to herself], saying, ‘Shall I really give birth [to a child] when I am so old?’ Is anything too difficult or too wonderful for the LORD? At the appointed time, when the season [for her delivery] comes, I will return to you and Sarah will have a son.””
