He sent out 70. Not just the 12 but 70. He sent them out, two by two. They healed the sick. They cast out demons. They preached the Gospel. They were astonished at what they saw, at the power and authority they carried as disciples.

But Jesus was not astonished. He was more like, “Yes, this is just business as normal for my disciples. I have given you power and authority above and beyond the power of the enemy. You taking authority over him is not the headlines. The headline is that your names are written in the book of life.”

Brothers and sisters, yes, you have all authority over every work of the enemy. You can heal the sick, cast out demons in the name of Jesus. Go into the world and do it. But remember the greater miracle is that you get to spend eternity with the Father!

“Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
