I am a superhero.
I was not bitten by a radioactive spider but I was anointed by a Holy Spirit.
I did not come from a foreign planet although I live in a different Kingdom.
I don’t have a lasso of truth but I do have a Spirit of discernment.
I am not the result of a lab accident that went terribly wrong but of a Divine Gift that went extremely well.
I don’t have a cape but I have a mantle of leadership and a robe of righteousness.
I am a superhero. I can trample over the kingdom of darkness in a single prayer. I can command demons to flee and they will obey. I can overcome every power Satan posses. I can lay hands on the sick and see them recover. I can bring encouragement and comfort to the downtrodden. I can change the atmosphere of the room just by entering. I can give generously to the poor. I can rescue women and men from the power of darkness. I can forgive freely and love deeply. I am a superhero.
Look on the earth! Are they angels? Are they aliens from another planet? No, it’s God’s people realizing who they are and walking in their authority and gifts, bringing peace, hope, resources, healing, and solutions to the world!
We are superheroes!
“When the seventy missionaries returned to Jesus, they were ecstatic with joy, telling him, “Lord, even the demons obeyed us when we commanded them in your name!” Jesus replied, “While you were ministering, I watched Satan topple until he fell suddenly from heaven like lightning to the ground. Now you understand that I have imparted to you all my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will be able to harm you as you walk in this authority. However, your real source of joy isn’t merely that these spirits submit to your authority, but that your names are written in the journals of heaven and that you belong to God’s kingdom. This is the true source of your authority.””
