One of James and I most favorite places to vacation is Lake Lure, nestled in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. While there, we visit Chimney Rock State Park. The last time I was there, I climbed to the top of the mountain. As you are climbing, there is a rock that looks like the devil and it’s appropriately called, “Devil’s Head.” The view from the mountaintop is stunning. As you peer down, all you see is life. You can see the lake running through the valley and plush, green trees. From that vantage point, everything seems so small and insignificant. While standing on that mountain, with a gentle breeze blowing, life seems so peaceful and full of possibilities. Your troubles, seem to pale in comparison to the majestic view.
While my vacation is but for a moment, my vantage point is eternal for I am seated in heavenly places. I have been made alive in Christ! I have been raised and seated with Christ. I am above the enemy’s head. From my heavenly perspective I see life, I see hope, I see endless possibilities. I am peaceful for the Holy Spirit is gently blowing life over me. I am seated, resting, free from strife. My problems pale in comparison to the Majesty of my Father.
Brothers and sisters, this is where we live, in Heavenly Places. This is our vantage point. Let us recognize who we are and where we are. Let us face today with peace and our circumstances with assurance, knowing we are seated with Christ in Heavenly Places!
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 2:4-6 NASB)
