One of the biggest lies the church has believed is that even after receiving Christ as our Savior, we are still sinners. When we receive Christ as our Savior, we became “the Righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.” II Corinthians 5:21.
One of the reasons the enemy doesn’t want us to believe this is because he doesn’t want us to access all of the promises God has for those who are righteous. He doesn’t want us to know how powerful we are in God, how treasured we are by God, or how utterly defeated he is because of the cross.
So I challenge you saints, to look in the mirror daily and begin to declare, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and every promise, every blessing for the righteous belongs to me.”
Here are a few promises to get you started:
“The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;
The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;
Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned.” Psalm 34:15, 17, 19, 21 NIV
