Saturday, I shared my conversation with the Holy Spirit:
Holy Spirit: I’m about to do a new thing.
Me: But I’ve been hurt before.
Holy Spirit: I’m about to do a new thing that is beyond what you can ask, think or imagine.
Me: I don’t want to be disappointed so forgive me as I manage my expectations.
Holy Spirit: Its a new day, my daughter.
Me: I’m still recovering from the last season.
The Holy Spirit reminded me of three of my favorite names of God:
Baal Perazim, Lord of the Breakthrough
El Shaddai, Lord God Amighty.
I Am.
I Am is my favorite name for God. It signifies He is All Encompassing. All I need. He is Enough.
Yes, He was. He is the Ancient of Days. From the beginning. Alpha. He was the God who spoke the world into existence, formed man from dust, fashioned woman. He performed the miracles read about in the Bible. To the children of Israel, He was Healer, Deliverer, Savior. We reflect on what He did. We regale stories of His past victories. We celebrate the Great He Was.
Yes, He will be. He is eternal. At the end. Omega. Heaven and earth may pass away, but He Remains. He is our Welcomer into Heaven. He is Soon Coming King. We talk about His future victory. We pray for the rapture to come quickly. We envision heaven, gold paved streets, mansions, and peace unimaginable. We celebrate the Great I Will Be.
But He is also I Am. Now. Present. This season. Today. This moment. He is inviting us to see what He is doing in this moment. He is inviting us to trust Him today. Today He is saying, I Am Savior. I Am Healer. I Am Deliver. I Am Victory. I Am Peace. I Am Heaven on earth. Celebrate I Am.
Yes, He is I Am in the middle of a pandemic.
Yes, He is I Am in the middle of a difficult season.
Yes, He is I Am – all you need, more than enough.
He is a signed blank Check backed by the resources of Heaven, dated today. (His bank doesn’t close on weekends or holidays.)
Celebrate the Great I Am.
My conversation with the Holy Spirit now sounds like this:
Holy Spirit: I’m about to do a new thing.
Me: Yes, you are Lord of the Breakthrough.
Holy Spirit: I’m about to do a new thing that is beyond what you can ask, think, or imagine.
Me: Yes, you are Almighty God. Nothing is too hard for you. You are able and willing to do more than I can ask, think, or imagine. Your almightiness will accomplish this.
Holy Spirit: It’s a new day, My daughter.
Me: Yes, for you are I Am. You are bigger than my past hurts and disappointments. You are more than enough in this moment. You are NOW! I trust the Great I Am.
I am celebrating I Am this morning. I am trusting I Am this morning. I am believing I Am in this season. How about you?
“Jesus said to them, “I give you this eternal truth: I have existed long before Abraham was born, for I AM!””
