Jesus came to set us free! The disciples thought he came to set them free from the oppression of their government but we can live in a free society yet still be in bondage to fear, our emotions, lies of the enemy, addictions, thought patterns, the fear of man…the list is endless. Jesus came to set us free, free indeed.
How do we walk in that freedom?
1. Identify any area in your life where you feel stuck. This may be a regular exercise because the enemy is tricky. It’s only when we recognize we are not free that we can begin to change it.
2. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what lie you are believing that’s causing me to act or think in this way.
3. Find the truth in His word that contradicts the lie you are believing and meditate on that. Declare that truth until your heart is aligned with the words you speak.
Jesus was the perfect Deliverer. He accomplished what He came to do – set you free! So legally you are free. The question becomes, do you believe you are free? Are your actions, your words, your thoughts that of a person who has been liberated or are you believing the lies of the enemy?
My friends, Jesus has set us free from our enemies and from the power of all who hate us. He has set us free to serve Him without fear. Free to walk in righteousness and holiness. Free to be whole and healthy in our physical bodies and in our emotions. He has set us completely and totally free! Walk in it!
““Praised be ADONAI, the God of Isra’el, because he has visited and made a ransom to liberate his people by raising up for us a mighty Deliverer who is a descendant of his servant David. That we should be delivered from our enemies and from the power of all who hate us. To grant us that we, freed from our enemies, would serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.”
