Accusations. One of the primary tactics of the enemy. He accuses our character, our ability, and yes he accuses our God. Sometimes these accusations come from other people, but more often than not it’s that inner voice that causes us to doubt ourselves and doubt God. It’s that annoying feeling that causes us to think that we are inept, ill-equipped, unimportant, and unqualified. Have you heard that voice?
Recognizing this voice is from the enemy is the first step in overcoming it. He can be convincing, so secondly we have to use our shield of faith. We have to have faith to believe we are who God says we are despite our last goof up, despite what we feel, despite what we have been told. We use our shield to prevent his lies and accusations from penetrating our hearts.
But we don’t just play defense. We get on the offense and begin to obliterate the enemy by speaking truth, what the Bible says about us. We declare and decree who God says we are, His promises to us, and how He has equipped us to rule and reign over darkness in this world.
So today, as you go to work or school, interact in your community, dare to believe that in Christ, you are as awesome as He says you are. Allow these truths to shield you from the accusing lies of the enemy. Speak His Word over your life and go change your world. Go make a difference. Go demonstrate the love of God.
“In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:16-17 NIV
