Who Will You Believe?

Did you know Satan knows God’s word? When he tempted Jesus, he quoted a scripture. I like the CJB translation. Satan told Jesus to “jump” and then quoted Psalms 91 to prove his point.

Today, the adversary is still telling Christians to jump and taking scripture out of context to prove his point. But unfortunately many Christians are jumping at his command. We are allowing the enemy to set our agenda. So how do we discern? How do we know if God is speaking through scripture or if we are hearing the voice of our enemy? How do we know if we are believing a lie?

The quick answer is that we not only need to know God’s word, we also need to know God’s heart, His character. We need to read the scripture through the lens of “God is good”, through the filter, “He is faithful”, from the vantage point, “He restores.”

I will be teaching on this Monday night @7 at Hope Chapel. If you want to know more, please join us. Everyone is welcomed even if you can only make this one class. But I believe the two topics God wants me to share are: how to avoid deception and how to wield your sword for the win. We are entering a new season in the Lord. The enemy is there to oppose us. But God has called us to walk in victory. Let’s make sure we are equipped for the battle!

““If you are the Son of God,” he said, “jump! For the Tanakh says, ‘He will order his angels to be responsible for you…. They will support you with their hands, so that you will not hurt your feet on the stones.’” Yeshua replied to him, “But it also says, ‘Do not put ADONAI your God to the test.’””
