Lessons Learned in the Pit

The Story of Joseph

1. Hold onto your Dreams. As we journey through life, sometimes it may seem as if we are far away from our dream. It may even seem as if we are going in the wrong direction. But hold onto to the dream. Declare it over your life. See it. Never give up on it.

2. Prosper in the the pit. You will never have authority in the palace until you learn to take authority in the pit. Prosper no matter where you find yourself. Joseph learned to administrate in the pit long before he was in charge of a kingdom.

3. Life is not fair. Haters are going to hate. But what the enemy has designed to destroy you, may be the very thing God uses to propel you into your destiny.

4. Your gift makes room for you. Joseph could have despised his gift of “dreamer”. After all the telling of his dream is what caused him to be in a pit. But it was his gift that opened the door for him.

5. Your situation can change in an instant. Be a prisoner of hope. (See #1)

He named the second Ephraim, “For,” he said, “God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.” (Genesis 41:52 NASB)
