It’s a Great Adventure

Exhilarating. Exciting. Thrilling. Words not generally associated with the Christian life. But they should be. We get to partner with God. We get to participate in healing the sick, helping people see their God-given worth, loving the unlovable, ministering to the needs of the people around us. We get to re-present Jesus in the world.

And these exciting opportunities are not just available to those in full time ministry. Absolutely not. These fun times are for all who are in Christ. We all get participate in the lame walking, the deaf hearing, the leper cleaning, and preaching the gospel to the poor.

There is a fresh excitement in my heart. I feel as if I have been asleep the the first four months of this year. (It was a much needed season of rest.) But today, begins a new adventure in Christ. This Christian life was meant to be lived to the fullest making the most of each opportunity. So, come on Papa, what adventure do you have in store for me today.

Buckle up! It’s going to be a thrillified ride!

“This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!”
