Greener Pastures

The Illusive Greener Pasture….

We have all searched for it. Longed for it. Pursued it. Only to find ourselves disappointed, discouraged, and disillusioned.

Eve had a wonderful life in the garden. Everything she needed was provided. She had a husband who only had eyes for her. She had unlimited food, authority, power, and daily communion with God. Gold and precious stones were literally lying around in her back yard. What more could a girl want?

But alas the enemy convinced her there was more. He convinced her the garden of Eden would be even better if she just ate the fruit. He promised her what she already had, “to be like God.”

Are you looking for a greener pasture in 2017? Are you searching for the perfect job, the perfect spouse, the perfect church, the perfect marriage, before your life can begin? Has the enemy convinced you that your happiness, your effectiveness, the call on your life is contingent upon you eating the proverbial apple, finding the perfect spouse, job, or whatever? Poppycock!

Eve lost sight of all she had been given. She forgot that she was already created in the image of God. She forgot that she had already carried the authority of God to multiply, bear fruit, subdue the darkness. Eve for a moment forgot her true identity.

In 2017, let’s not be like Eve. Right now at this moment, if you are a son or daughter of God, you possess everything you need for your God given mission. You have power (because Jesus lives within you), you have authority over all the works of the enemy, and God’s unlimited resources are available to you at this moment. So stop waiting, stop looking, stop pursuing greener pastures and begin to cultivate the pasture you are currently standing on.

Sister Eve did not need to eat a piece of fruit to be like God; she already was. You don’t need an event to qualify you; you are already qualified. So go. Prosper. Bear fruit. Multiply. Subdue. You are standing on your greener pasture.

““You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.””
