Faith in the Grocery Store

When my husband and I were a young family,  money was tight. But I was learning about the things of God and growing in my faith. I would declare God’s goodness and quote prosperity scriptures over my family.

One day my husband asked me to get him something from the grocery store. I brought something similar but not exactly what he wanted because it was on sale. I’ll never forget his question to me: “Does your Faith not work in the grocery store?”

His question in jest, has stuck with me over the years? Am I limiting God? Can I believe God to heal a headache but not cancer? Can I believe God for a job but not the ability to do the job? Am I  believing God in some areas in my life but relying on my abilities in others?

Jesus has given us a great and mighty promise. Whatever (no limitations) you bind on earth, will be bound in heaven. Whatever (no limitations) you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Let us take the limits off of God. Release your faith in the grocery store, at your job, in the hospital room, on the mission’s field, in your marriage, over your family. There is no area of your life exempt from being blessed by God. Take the limits off God. Your faith works in the grocery store!

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.””

Matthew 16:19 NIV
