Every Promised Fulfilled

Joshua, at the end of his life recorded this amazing attribute to God’s faithfulness:

Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.”
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭21:45‬ ‭NLT‬

Considering the promise started with Abraham, the fulfillment of the promise only took:
A miraculous birth (believe me, Sara giving birth at 90 was a miracle)
700 years
400 years of bondage in Egypt
A parting of a Sea
40 years of wandering a desert
Countless battles

Now, I don’t say this to discourage you but to encourage. The journey between God’s promise and the fulfillment is rarely linear and always requires a battle. The Israelites often mumbled and grumbled about their circumstance. They questioned where was God. The cried out to Him in despair. But God was working everything out for their good. And He is working everything out for your good as well.

You see, the plan God has for you is generational. It’s not just about here and now. God is calling you to leave a legacy for generations to come. Just as Abraham saw partial fulfillment of the promise (birth of many children in his old age) you too will see a fulfillment of God’s promise in the land of the living. But your life is part of a beautiful tapestry God is weaving as a testimony for generations to come.

Friends, you may be going through a difficult time that has you questioning the promises of God. You may be in a battle, or feel as if you are in bondage or feel as if you are wandering in a desert, or just weary from waiting. But know this:

Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given you will be left unfulfilled; everything he has spoken to you shall come true.”
