You “Get To”

4:45 am every weekday morning the alarm sounds. I lay there wishing for a different job, fantasizing of sleeping an additional two hours. Dazed and half asleep, I find my tablet and open the Word. (Thank God for technology.)

In His Word, I am reminded of my purpose, my calling, my identity. His Word encourages me to go out and change my world one person at a time. He is leading me in victory. I am spreading the aroma of Christ everywhere I go. I am light in the darkness and adding salt for seasoning.

With this revelation, I become excited to start my day. My wish is no longer for a new job but to demonstrate Jesus at my job. I no longer fantasize about sleeping in but about making the most of time I’m given.

You see, boys and girls, you don’t ‘have to’ go to work, prepare your kids for school or go to school. You ‘get to‘ be a light, show love, and spread the aroma of Christ at work, at school, in the carpool line, at the grocery store, on the soccer field.

Get excited! You have the privilege of changing your world today!

“But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere,”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
