What’s in Your Hand?

I was talking with a friend the other day. She has had some tough breaks in her life. In our conversation, she kept telling me what she could not do because of lack of resources -money, equipping, family. But God had me encourage her that it was not about her lack but it’s about His All-sufficiency.

When Jesus commanded His disciples to feed thousands, they immediately reminded Jesus of their lack of resources. But Jesus’ question to them was, “What do you have?” The insufficient amount they had became more than enough when blessed by Jesus.

What has God put on your heart to do? Do you feel inadequate? Do you not have the financial resources? It’s okay. Step out in faith and give God what you do have and watch Him do the rest. Give Him your insufficiency and watch Him do more than you can ask, think, or imagine!

“But he answered, “You give them something to eat.” They said to him, “That would take more than half a year’s wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?” “How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Go and see.” When they found out, they said, “Five—and two fish.”

Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.”
