Election Season Peace

As Christians we have the fruit of peace within us. Nonetheless we are also instructed to pursue or seek peace. I don’t know about you, but during this election season, I find myself constantly fighting for peace. There are so many negative ads and fb posts that we can begin to believe the lie that If our candidate isn’t chosen, we are doomed.

So how do we seek peace during an election year?

1. Trust God! Plain and simple. Do not put your hopes, your trust into a person or a political party. There is only Messiah and the last time I checked His name was not on any ballot.

2. Put your confidence in God. Remember, Joseph prospered under a wicked King, Daniel prospered under a narcissistic King. Both of these men relied on and had confidence in God’s ability to speak to them and give them supernatural wisdom.

3. Do not allow fear to guide you. Isaac sowed in a drought and reaped a hundredfold. Droughts cannot stop the promises of God in our lives. God’s faithfulness does not rely on who is POTUS.

4. We are called to bear fruit. We are called to be light. We are called to be the voice of hope. We are called to the ministry of reconciliation. Vote your conscious but remember God loves Hillary and her supporters. He loves Donald and his supporters. He loves Pat and Roy. Ask God to open your eyes so that you can see what He sees when He looks at them.

Do not allow the enemy to steal your peace during this election season. Pursue peace! Trust God. Be a minister of reconciliation!

““But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.”
